1, 2, 3, Slide.

Taken last Monday, August 13, 2012 with his cousin, Aaron.

Don't worry, he's okay after he made that slide (and after I took this pictures) he's used to this slide, place, every weekend we take him here and sometime during weekdays.

Weekend in Instagram

Thank God for weekends, that after week long load of work, we still have time to be with my family, that includes Holidays too.

Happy Independence Philippines! We got a long way to celebrate it. Let's live to it!

5 < 2

1st Official Haircut was when he turned 1 year old : August 12, 2011

Less a  month later,
September 5, 2011, his second

and comes the third,
October 11, 2011, third time

We tried to let his hair grow thicker, after 3 months..
February 26, 2012, fourth salon visit

then last Sunday, we tried one mall up north, Marqee Mall at Angeles, Pampanga. And saw a kids salon, Travis had his unplanned haircut which made up his 5th visit salon.

Fifth, June 3, 2012. Just before school starts.

Explain further, 5 haircuts in less 2 years. Travis is exactly 1 year, 9 months, 3 weeks and 3 days as of now (while writing this post) and while with those developments, words and everything he does today so is the thickness of his hair, yes, it's not even long (well, kinda) but eventually he got a good combination of his Dad's hair and mine. His Dad got black and almost there thick hair, while I have wavy (got natural curls) and thick hair (it won't show since I have gone some straightening treatment) I don't know if his hair is just normal, in thickness or what. We (the Husband) thought of buying thinning scissors or thinning shears, so we can cut his hair without hearing him cry. We will try, I can't imagine how will be his 6th, 7th, Nth salon visit again without him crying, so that's plan B.

Hey Mommies, Stylist, Every All, suggestions are very much welcome, will appreciate if you have insights to share with me on what to do. By then, thank you in advance.

My Little Hulk!

Let me tell you a story, a story of a busy, working Mom. I got to work 6 times a week, and spends a day there, including one hour travel to work and one again going back home. All day, I'm away from this little Hulk, one day when I arrived home, I sit and as a part of my relaxation from work, I upload pictures from my camera to my laptop, to my surprise, I saw these pictures, I called Cathy, Travis cousin who's staying with us while it's school vacation and asked her how they let Travis wore his hulk costume, (cause sometimes he doesn't want to dress up, especially when it's hot). She said, Travis just saw his hulk costume and immediately remove his clothes and tried it on. I was laughing then, I let Travis look at his pictures and he smiled while saying "Hulk, Smash!" And running around the house shouting, "Hulk, Smash!"

Well, maybe he was too fascinated with Hulk after we watched The Avengers with his cousins, where everything that comes in Hulk's way, he smashes it. I hope Travis won't smash anything or even anyone.

Honestly, I miss times like this, when I can just stay at home, look after Travis and not get a yaya for him, well maybe a househelp. I hope that time will come. So you wait, little Hulk! Mommy's gonna get you and just stay at home. Haha.

And our little smash-er got thirsty.

Everyday I'm on Instagram! I'm sharing at sarahalconcel, I wanna see more.

Since Travis knows how to smile on the camera - this app is very much useful now.

Playground

Every morning he goes to our village's playground with his cousins and Yaya Tin. Last Saturday, I get the chance to go with them since yaya is on a weekend-off, I was amazed how he calls neighbors by name, how he cheers and shouts "ibble, toot" (dribble, shoot) to the Kuyas playing basketball. He knows how to raise his hand, and down he goes on the slide.

Definitely, he will grow up in this playground. He love it there, he thinks he owns it too.

I had a busy, long Monday but coming home to this little boy, makes me look forward to weekends with my little family. Little huh.

Happy and great week ahead all!

How I miss blogging/sharing/caring, most of all spending time to read blogs of Moms who inspire me the most. I'll update my links so I can read on my way to work. And you, thank you for reading/visiting me here. See you around.

Beach Mode: ON!

Last weekend, we had our trip to the beach, the much-awaited family trip. When Travis saw the swimming pool, he said "ming-ming" with that he then mimics the motion of swimming. The last time we're at the beach was last year, and he was 9 months young then..

But all of his reaction was the same 11 months ago here, he enjoyed the water, might be in the pool or at the beach. He even sleep-talk about "ming-ming" on our way home.

By this time then, I was introducing beach sand to him, I hand him some, but said: "No-no", maybe because the sand's color or maybe he's scared. Still he sat on my lap and enjoy the water, just so he won't touch the sand. Clever.

"Mama, sand!" he says

"Ma, kanin, chicken." He got it, after seeing him with this face.

And hey, after lunch he wets himself so we can swim again, what an excuse, honeybunch!

We just spent one afternoon at the beach, but it was worth all the minutes! I know it's just the start of our summer trips, there's gonna be more, right Husband? ;)

Where have you been since summer starts? Share some places you've been to, I'm scouting for places to go with my little family, even bigger if time permits.

Thank you summer for times like these. But please don't get any hotter. :)

On Potty Training

Every day, I wake up at 7am, off to work at 8am after an hour we'll reach workplace. That's the only time I get to think about everything not work related. (and yes, sorry for lack of post, busy bee here). One 1-hour-travel-to-work, I thought of when is the real great time for Travis to start on his potty training, as I read, there's no such exact age for potty training, we as Mom / parents should feel if our child is ready.

I remember one morning, he didn't go far from our bed to do his poop ritual, he just then ask his Daddy to open the door and says "pu-pu". The Husband and I looked at each other, amazed, right then I told him I think we're ready to potty train him. Until now, I'm in search of one great potty trainer, no one needs expensive even complicated one (I saw one with music with it, huh?!) I think a potty trainer with Buzz Lightyear would be great, err best!

We'll see.

Eating Habits

He shares, promise. He'll just get the toppings, those mini M&M's and sugar sprinkles, then give you back almost everything. But if you give him a plate of rice and green leaf veggie or spaghetti and pizza, he'll eat them all.

And lately he eats animals too.

Letting him eat isn't a problem, though sometimes he prefers sweets, lollipops, candies and chocolate still fruits and vegetables and rice, pasta and pizza still wins.

When He's Asleep

We're still thinking who sleeps this way, the Daddy or the Mommy.

Thank You Weekend

-- For letting us spend the whole day playing with Travis.

-- You make me cook for lunch and dinner.

-- I have me-time inside the bathroom, and that includes cleaning it!

-- Watching Toy Story 3 on his iPad the whoooooooole day. And seeing Travis talk like Woody, Buzz and Bulleye (Jessie's Horse)

So HAPPY WEEKEND All, I am waiting for this day since last week. Until next.

Oh, I miss blogging too.

He Does it Better

I have a secret to tell you, am a bit jealous with fashion bloggers, they can wear almost anything from anywhere and looks great, just fashion worthy. And since I think I can't do it, am letting Travis do it.

And he does it good, right? He got it from his Daddy, who competes for modelling acts way way back his school days.

Hmmmmm, we'll see if he will follow his Dad's footsteps. Only smaller ones, I think.

And I just remember, it's official, it's already a week ago, he's still under medications, but doing great, rashes were almost gone. Thank God.

Scarlet Fever

It was Wednesday of last week, around 4:00pm when Travis' Yaya sms'd me about his condition, she said, he's cranky, and he's crying and feverish at 40° C, rand itchy rashes all over his body, actually the fever itself started Tuesday. by the time I got her message we were still at the office (read: Antipolo) and our home  was in Quezon City almost an hour or more travel during rush hour, right then we (with the Husband, my officemate and Dad, Mom and Sis-in-law) left. Upon arrival at 5:30pm, we checked his temperature and got 39° C , we then decided to take Travis to the hospital, arrived at the ER by 6:00pm, he got his vitals checked and yes, he got fever, I was asked of all the details the doctors and nurses needed, after blood was extracted and tested, and as they trace the start of the fever, he got his first IV and right then Travis' Pedia Dra. Ortega decided that he'll be admitted, it's like the world stopped, as tears were about to drop, I realized that they know what's better and best so I'll count on them, at 9:00pm we were in room 529.

Every second, every minute and hour, we're praying for him, morning came, fever was down. Am amazed. but not until by afternoon, he was feverish again at 39°. And diagnosed to have Scarlet Fever. Whew!

Honestly I don't want to remember those days. I hate that feeling. Though I learned so many things, aside from Travis for being a good boy, that every four hours, he'll wake up to the door knock so they could check his temperature, give his medicine and check his IV. Heart-breaking weekend, but I understand I have to get through all this, hopefully this is the last for now, I'm not ready for the next.

Last night and last morning at the hospital. Am gonna miss the view, just the view.

Day of discharge was the grandest day, he had Jell-o treat from his nurse for being a good boy. And I take this part as I thank St. Luke's Medical Center Nurses Grace, Jobelle, Roubelle, Izzah, Khrystal, Leeya,  Doctors - Doc Bernardino, Doc Joyce, Doc Bryan, specially Dra Ortega for taking care of my little boy. He may be (now) aloof with Nurses and Doctors in white suits, but at least, he's okay, he's back in *play-mode* And thank you to our relatives and friends who dropped by, called and sms'd us asking about Travis. All of these are appreciated from my family to yours. Big heartfelt Thank you and we all love you.

Every 12th of the Month

We (still) celebrate it every 12th with either a piece of cake, sometimes a whole cake, it isn't bad anyway.

So today marks Travis' 1 year and 6 month.
Happy Birth Day Travis!
And I just think that it was too fast.

And that every days in between made me realize I'm still a student to being a Mother, am still learning and I'm okay with that all, embracing those times I get to spend with him now that I'm officially a working mom, that means there's only two whole days I get to be with him, yes sad. That's why everyday I see to it the Husband and I goes home early as possible, my everyday isn't bad, after all I can bring him to work any time I want.

Oh hey, it's 2 days before Valentines Day and my Parent's 45th wedding anniversary, I'm (or I may say we, together with my 4 brothers) were accustomed not celebrating V-day on it's day. We spend it everyday. Yes, everyday! Do you have a date? Me? I date him ( and the baby daddy) everyday. Try it. *wink

Now, this got me thinking, what's happening on the 14th?

Sing Like No One is Listening

Father and Son Duets.

While they're busy, Yaya and I are busy too - taking pictures.

When I started to sing Travis' fave song (On The Floor JLo & Pitbull) he looked at me blankly like "Mom, cmon!" right then I stopped.
He laughed.

I really don't sing, seriously , I just dance, I'm not gifted on that side. LOL.
But the Husband and Travis (I think, soon) is.

When was the last time you sang?

Sing a song, Happy Sunday All.
And a great week ahead.

My Little Man in a Suit

Travis and I

Travis and I walked down the aisle (for the first time) as we carry the veil.
Honestly, I got teary-eyed when I saw him walking beside me, holding my hand as we walk the aisle and until we found our seat, he looks around and plays a really good boy.
Okay, I'm a proud Mom.

Mommy, Travis (Daddy and Kuya Aaron at the back) with Kuya Gabriel and Tita Joy
Now, let the photos speak..

We so find time for some photo ops --

The Alconcel Family

The formal side of the A-Boys!

I'll take this part to thank Emil and Ronalyn for inviting us on their special day,
We wish you a happy, fruitful and blessed married life. Cheers!
