Celebrating Two Birthdays!

I salute Ate Nhel, she's been with us since May of this year, and since then she never asked for a day-off. Probably because she doesn't know anyone from here besides us, for me it's a good thing but of course she needs a day-off and she deserves one. For that 5 months we've been together, from day one she never gave me an headache. She asks whenever she doesn't know what to do, which I like from her. And the bottomline, Travis love him, just like last night, my Mom brought us a box of donut, while eating he called Ate Nhel and shared one donut without anyone telling him to do so. Am happy he understands that sharing is caring. And his Ate Nhel comes first.

Ate Nhel's Birthday falls on a Wednesday (Oct 23) while Ate Monic's (our househelp) is by Thursday (Oct 24). We started making fruit salad at home and treat Ate Nhel for a lunch. Ate Monic is much of a home-buddy so we promised to buy then cakes on their birthdate and they agreed.

As promised, cake on their birthdate.
Am sharing this to give Nanny's and Helpers and the like the privilege they deserve for serving us the way we asked and wanted. For the trust we gave each other and the passion for the work they have. Kudos to our helpers! How would we do all things without them, right?

Travis' And His Minion Themed Party

Let me share this to you, after I posted pictures of Travis' minion party, I received messages asking where I got this or that, so I decided to make an entry to help Moms/Aunt/Sis or any event planner to help them save (yes, read it right SAVE!) it's in the matter of setting your budget, and stick to it!

So where will I start?
It was then June, when I ask Travis what theme he wants for his birthday, he always says, soldier or army. So okay, that would be easy, because it's generic. But then comes July, out the Despicable Me 2 movie, he then like Minions, so Minions it is. I searched Google and Pinterest for ideas, and all of them were do-it-yourself which won't make it, because I'm a working (busy) Mom. But with the help of online sellers and sticking to the theme Minions (which are yellows and blues) I think we pulled everything off just right.

So let's start with?
A. My Party Planner, Ms Ley and Mr. JB of InstaShot Photobooth.
    Got their Package that includes:
1. Event Styling, I personally requested less on balloons, and still they made everything look so great! Fun-tastic styling guys! Designs were made of lanterns, medallions, diy minion bottles. They also provide our game master and sound system too.
While that Travis standee in the middle (him with an ice cream on his hand) was ordered through Aimee of Ma Arte Aims.

2. Candy Buffet, surely their gummies, candies, oh those yogurt sticks are FTW!

3. Face Paint, for an activity on the side.

4. Magician: JB Lazerman, since Travis is Three now, he can then participate in the games, not to mention perform some serious magic. You can check his FB Page here: Lasermagic by JB Dela Cruz

5. Three 3 hours standee photobooth, which we, our relatives and guests enjoyed.

B. SisterArt : Cake and Cupcakes
Because we wouldn't want to miss SisterArt! :) More of their art cakes at their FB Page: SisterArt Bakeshop

C. Mascot and Photo Coverage: Ren Events. Visit their page here: http://renevents.org/cosplay-costumes-makers

D: Give-aways & Prizes, candies, gummies:  I bought them over at FB online sellers. I listed their FB links and what we ordered from them.

Paulen's PartyNeeds: From party prizes to candies, I ordered three times from this shop.

Partie Invitazion: Tumblers and Bag Tags - useful and convenient, and cute too.

Personalized Kids Minions shirts - Markchen's Shop

Table Centerpiece is a must since I don't put much of balloons, and our guests took them home. from Kulukuti Haws.

I believe you can get everything in one supplier, but for someone like Me, who won't settle for one, I think this could be of help.

Oh, Food, before I forget. I booked them through Rose, a good friend whose a event stylist and planner too, check out their FB Page here: The Eventologist. And their food was great, especially their beef broccoli and baked macaroni.

To cap off this post, I have to share this photo, where Travis and Laserman gets to amaze everyone with their snow magic:

and I'll get this opportunity to thank everyone who helped and inspired me. And as I post this entry I hope I get to help making any themed party possible, well as your birthday boy/girl thought of. Happy Planning! :)

Be Our Guest ( Planning Travis' 2nd Birthday Party)

He's two now. Okay, 22 days ago, he was officially Two years old. And every day he still amuses us with how he sees the world around him, he can speak 3-4 words, he speaks like a man only with little voice, maybe because the Daddy and I decided not to baby talk him. Whenever we ask him if he's okay, he'll nod and answer "Yah!"

Now, let me share how I planned their party, I did it for a month, yes, blame the busy Mom in me.

1. Venue. Barrington Place, Skydeck, Congressional Ave, Quezon City, click here for more details.
Since we can't fit in our house, I looked for that one place that's new and near our house. So I checked this place and it was available, I immediately booked it for August 12. Yay! Actually I thought of fast food restaurant who doubles as party venue too, but the Husband and I doesn't want a limited two hours of party, who wants that right? So we opted to the place. As you see, we had the full place all to us and our family, relatives and friends. We can dance anywhere.

2. Dessert Buffet and Cake. SisterArt.
    Here's SisterArt FB Page.
For all you know Kim and Rica of SisterArt has been my favorite, they've been with my family special event since 2008. There's no event in our household that you won't see SisterArt's artistic and tasteful and yummy pastries, cake and cupcakes. You can see how we build our friendship here, she's a supplier turned friend and Travis' Godmother too.
SisterArt made Travis one great dessert buffet with personalized chocolates and water bottles too, isn't that cool?

With us is Kim and Rica's beautiful family.
3. Party Host, Assistant, Magician and Ventriloquist, Balloon, Mascot. And everything in     between in a party. (I got their Sweet Party Caravan Package)
With the help of Ms. Roschelle owner of Sweet Party Memories, I had them all. Big thank for Party planners like them.
We got his favorite Buzz Lightyear Mascot.
4. Invitation Design and Printing.
April  of  Artisan Design Studio, has been my savior when it comes to invitation design. Check her FB page here: http://www.facebook.com/designsofartisan She designs for his invites, cupcakes toppers, thank you cards and stickers, oh and she printed them out too.
5. Photobooth.
Since the venue has their accredited photobooth, we had iFlick.
Avail of their 4 hours package and their green screen background for more choices of backgound and additional 1 hour photo magnets as our guest souvenirs.

6. Food.
Ate Leny's Catering, Ate Leny is my sis-in-law's sister. And I have everything covered. Thanks      Ate Leny. I'm assured that food is perfect.
Ate Leny is on the left in red.
 7. Photocoverage by Sophia Photography.
Visit their FB page here: http://www.facebook.com/sophiaphotography
Their tandem was the best, so far. They got each guest a solo shots, that's a plus. And captures every laugh and smiles.

8. Cakes and Cakepops by CakeTerrific by Aicel and Sabie.
Visit their FB Page here: http://en-gb.facebook.com/CaketeRrific

Planning took me almost two months. All smiles and laughter made me realize it's all worth it.

Thank you to my family, relatives and friends who spent their family day with us. From my family to yours, BIG Thank You. and may God bless us all.

Preparing his Second Birthday Party

It's the time of the year again, where we celebrate two birthdays in a day, that's the Husbands and Travis'.
I then made a guide board, thanks to Pinterest,  for making my party planing easier, some may be DIY thanks to youtube.
And since Travis likes Buzz Lightyear. I just focused on it and his colors.
By now, his turning two, the party wont be that big as the first one, I squeezed my invited to family, relatives and closest friends. Since Travis can play now and understands almost everything that's happening around, I know he will enjoy his special day.

Here's my pinterest board for Travis' second birthday party theme.

Those are my inspirations, I may not have them exactly as shown here, but I'm sure Travis and his invited friends will enjoy the party. And for that I leave it to my party planner, Ms. Roschelle of  Sweet Party Memories. While Kim of SisterArt will be making Travis' cake and Dessert Buffet too. And Aicel of Caketerrific will make cupcakes for guests take home treats, iFlick for photo booth, and Sophia Photography to capture every smiles we all share.

Well, I still have 2 weeks and 6 days to finalize everything! Whew! I can do this! Wish me luck!

Great Sunday everyone!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY

I want to write a letter for Mom over here at my blog, on second thought I did not cause the time and space and my brain won't let me. Okay, honestly I am gonna cry.

So I'm gonna make it short.

If I were to ask who I want be when I get much older? I would gladly say, my Mom.
She is just different, the patience, the unconditional love, support, her everyday life-saving tips, her old stories, I love everything about her, she's one perfect woman, a wonderful gift from God.

We're 43 years apart, so that means she's 42 when she gave birth with me, though I am one size bigger than her, I look up to her, she's my idol and whoever I am yesterday, today and tomorrow it's because of my Mommy Lita.

Happy 70th Birthday Ma, I love you.
We all love you.

PS,
I hope you had a great intimate dinner with us. We we're all preparing for one big party for you but we know you're one reserved person, so we decided we won't share you to anyone.

All the love,
Your only daughter
Mylene Sarah

I Always Have The BEST Birthday (Part Two)

Since my birthday started BEST, I had my energy to fill up my whole day. Cooked, ordered some and prepared our lunch.

The Husband and I had breakfast. Since the grocery opens at 830am, we waited. I look like a hungry hippo here. Excuse me..

And here's what happened next..

I had two cakes, a 1 mile Black Velvet Cake from Conti's and Carrot Cake (with walnuts, yum!) from Fleur De Lys.. Thanks to my nephew, Shyan.

And gifts from Mom, My sis-in-laws, Hubs, niece Mynjel and Travis and my Bes, Sof.

My family.

Spot my bestfriend! I miss her.

And Manong Sorbetero is here.

I had a blast, I wanna thank everyone who SMS'd, send PM, tweets, DM'd, BBM'd, posted on my FB wall, even emailed ( and everything in between) to send their greetings and made a wish in my behalf. I pray that God would bless everyone of you as He blesses me and my family. I am 27, full of happiness, love and blessed. I am forever grateful.

While the Husband and I were planning to go out on a date, we changed our mind, since we don't wanna leave Travis, we stayed home, opened a vodka cruiser for me and JD for him and we know, we're all good.
